ETA Industrial Electronics (IND) is an ETA International journeyman-level certification for industrial electronics technicians. ETA describes industrial journeyman electronics technicians as needing knowledge of industrial electronics basic concepts that apply across industrial specialty areas, including amplifiers, optical wiring, block diagrams and schematics, power supplies, test equipment and tools, mathematics, computers and digital concepts, safety, satellite-wireless-data communications, cabling, troubleshooting, motors, programmable logic controllers, and software.

ETA Press lists IND as a journeyman certification with maintenance required, a 4-year term, no hands-on requirement, 75 questions, a 75% passing score, and 2 hours allowed to test. ETA's competency outline says industrial electronics technicians are expected to obtain industrial/automation electronics core knowledge before additional specialty areas. The outline covers industrial safety, first aid, fire hazards, confined spaces, NEC/CEC electrical safety, OSHA and ANSI ladder/work-at-height rules, PPE, arc flash, lockout/tagout, fiber safety, static-sensitive components, robotic safety, industrial math, power and circuit formulas, mechanical advantage, fluid power, number systems, dB calculations, flowcharts, ladder diagrams, P&ID diagrams, NEMA devices, resistive and capacitive components, sensors and transducers, op-amps, isolators, power supplies, motors, PLCs, troubleshooting, and automation software.
