ETA Electronic Security Networking Technician (ESNT) is an ETA International certification for technicians who cable, connect, install, program, and troubleshoot IP-enabled physical security devices on local area networks and the Internet. ETA's ESNT competencies focus on the networking and security-device knowledge needed for systems such as IP video and other networked physical security equipment.

ETA's catalog lists ESNT as a Journeyman or stand-alone certification with maintenance required, a 4-year term, no hands-on requirement, 80 questions, a 75% passing score, and 2 hours allowed to test. Preparation should cover general networking, network addressing, network cabling, network devices, internet connections, network services, IP-enabled physical security devices, network security, common network testing and troubleshooting, NAT, DNS, DDNS, SNMP, firewalls, browsers, software ports, Java and ActiveX as related to IP video, wired and wireless architecture, codes and standards, configuration, protocols, file management, and security.
