IT Specialist Databases prep for relational design and ANSI SQL exam help

IT Specialist: Databases is a Certiport certification for candidates proving introductory knowledge of how to design, create, and query relational databases such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or Oracle. Certiport's 2025 database objectives say candidates should have at least 150 hours of instruction or hands-on experience with database design and object management, data retrieval and manipulation, and related troubleshooting. The exam syntax is provided in ANSI SQL. Objective areas include Database Design; Database Object Management using DDL; Data Retrieval; Data Manipulation using DML; and Troubleshooting. Candidates should understand entities, rows, columns, primary keys, composite keys, data types, primary and foreign key relationships, ERDs, referential integrity, normalization to third normal form, data protection, backups, restore, least privilege, GRANT and REVOKE, encryption, hashing, masking, auditing, CREATE/ALTER/DROP statements for tables and views, stored procedures, functions, clustered and non-clustered indexes, joins, UNION, INTERSECT, DISTINCT, aliases, ORDER BY, WHERE, GROUP BY, HAVING, aggregate functions, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, syntax errors, and runtime errors. Certiport's IT Specialist tutorial says each IT Specialist exam has 36 to 40 questions and a maximum exam time of 50 minutes, and the voucher page says IT Specialist exams use Certiport Authorized Testing Centers for in-person or remote proctoring.
