New York Bar Exam guide exam help

The New York State Board of Law Examiners administers the Uniform Bar Examination twice each year on the last Tuesday and Wednesday of February and July. BOLE lists the July 2026 New York Bar Exam for July 28-29, 2026, with the application filing period running March 1-31, 2026. New York's current UBE passing score is 266, and applicants for admission by examination must also complete the New York Law Course, pass the New York Law Exam, and earn a qualifying MPRE score of 85.

The current New York UBE is a paper and in-person examination made up of two MPT items, six MEE questions, and the 200-question MBE. BOLE's information guide states that applicants may use a personal laptop with Board-designated secure word-processing software to type MPT and MEE answers if all laptop deadlines are met; otherwise, written answers are handwritten in answer booklets. All applicants record MBE answers on the Scantron answer sheet provided by BOLE. BOLE's schedule lists Tuesday morning for the MPT, Tuesday afternoon for the MEE, and two three-hour MBE sessions on Wednesday.

BOLE identifies ExamSoft Worldwide as the Board's third-party software vendor. For current UBE administrations, applicants who select the laptop option receive ExamSoft instructions for purchasing, downloading, and registering Examplify, and the required steps and deadlines are provided by email for that administration. Applicants should also review the current security policy, seat-ticket and ID rules, permitted laptop items, prohibited electronics, accommodation deadlines, and BOLE account email requirements before exam day. New York has announced that the NextGen Bar Exam will replace the UBE beginning with the July 2028 administration, and NCBE's jurisdiction table states that New York will not accept NextGen transfer scores earned before July 2028.
