Physician assistant exams guide exam help

ExamSoft's allied-health page and Northern Arizona University Physician Assistant case study provide the clearest current guidance for PA program exams. ExamSoft says health-sciences programs can track learning objectives outlined by licensure bodies including ARC-PA and PAEA, and the NAU PA case study describes ExamSoft as a digital assessment platform used to gain performance insights across learning outcomes, educational objectives, task areas, accreditation criteria, and categories. NAU adopted ExamSoft in 2013 and used item tagging to track Bloom's Taxonomy of learning outcomes and ARC-PA educational objectives.

The NAU case study describes the PA workflow in detail. Faculty create exams in the ExamSoft portal, tag items to categories, assign multiple categories to one item, and use category reporting at student, course, and program levels. Faculty also use psychometric analysis, including KR-20, point biserial, and discrimination index, to evaluate the quality of exams and individual items. Student orientation includes a presentation on Examplify screens, exam downloads, and a password-protected practice quiz with features such as highlighter, calculator, note pad, and spell checker.

For remediation and retention, the case study highlights Strengths and Opportunities Reports that show category strengths and weaknesses, such as cardiology strength but cardiac examination skill weakness. Faculty can review course and program data, identify students needing support, and connect remediation to specific categories. ExamSoft also notes NAU's use of ExamID and ExamMonitor for secure remote assessments, ExamNow for formative assessment, and ExamSCORE for OSCEs and virtual case-study rubrics. PA students should still follow their program's ExamSoft instructions and remember that PANCE eligibility and certification are governed by ARC-PA program graduation and NCCPA requirements, not by ExamSoft.
