DVM programs often use ExamSoft data alongside NAVLE preparation, but NAVLE itself is an ICVA licensing exam delivered through Prometric, not ExamSoft. ICVA states that the NAVLE is a secure, proctored licensing examination made up of 360 clinically relevant multiple-choice questions. ICVA's current FAQ lists 7.5 hours total timing, six 60-question blocks, 65 minutes per block, and 45 minutes of break time; it also notes a planned shift to twelve 30-question blocks beginning with the October-November 2026 NAVLE. Current ICVA application periods include June 1-July 15 for the October-November window, December 1-January 7 for March, and April 1-May 7 for July-August, with 2026 testing dates listed as March 1-21 and July 13-August 8.
